RAIDENWORKS is building a science-fiction combat game where pilots take on giant carriers and mechanical creatures. AI helped create supporting characters while the studio built the ships, combat systems and environments itself.
Visit GameSTELLAR WING is an ambitious 3D action game built around coordinated fighter combat, enormous warships and mechanical creatures. Its new playable demo shows how AI can support specific production tasks while the developer concentrates on building the experience.
You approach an enormous enemy carrier with three other fighter pilots. Turrets open fire, shields protect its machinery, and reaching the central core means dismantling the ship piece by piece.
That's one of the central encounters in STELLAR WING, a science-fiction action game from RAIDENWORKS.
Released October 8, the free demo introduces the Astra Union and lets players tackle three campaign missions, a 15-minute carrier assault and a hunt against the Sentinel, a giant mechanical creature with armored weak points.
Wingmen communicate during missions, identify threats and coordinate attacks. Between battles, players return to a hangar to customize their spacecraft.
The full game is planned to include twelve campaign missions, thirty hunts across ten mechanical creature species and approximately 200 ship parts.
The developer has also explained exactly where AI contributed.
AI-generated multiview character concepts were converted into 27 pilot and commander models. Generated imagery also helped with portraits, national emblems, interface textures and briefing illustrations. The developer reviewed and adjusted these assets before inclusion.
The spacecraft, carriers, monsters, environments, effects and game logic were created through procedural or traditional development. Exact generative model names have not been disclosed.
AI-assisted game development becomes more interesting when the result is a substantial game rather than a collection of generated assets.
STELLAR WING offers coordinated combat, layered objectives, spacecraft customization and enormous mechanical enemies. Its AI contribution supports the production rather than defining the gameplay.
For an independent developer capable of building complex systems but unable to produce every supporting character and illustration manually, that division of labor is compelling.
The demo also gives players something important: a chance to judge the controls, combat and encounters themselves. Meaningful player reviews have not yet accumulated.
Coordinate with three AI wingmen during missions.
Disable turrets, shields and the central core.
Find weaknesses in enormous armored creatures.
Customize equipment between encounters.
The interesting achievement isn't the generated character roster. It's the combat game the developer built around it.
Imagine a small studio capable of building exciting combat and spectacular machines but lacking the resources to create every supporting asset.
STELLAR WING offers one approach: put the development effort where players will feel it most and use AI to help fill specific production gaps.
What earns it a place on VEYR is the scale and ambition of the action. The demo now gives players the opportunity to see whether that promise holds up.
Generated supporting character concepts, 27 pilot/commander models, portraits, UI textures and briefing artwork; gameplay and vehicles traditionally/procedurally built.
