What Happened
At Apsara Conference 2026, Alibaba Cloud announced Smart Video as one of three new AI solutions. The company says it can create videos up to one hour from a prompt, support ongoing natural-language refinements and work across multiple video models and more than 20 languages.
Why It Matters
The product points to the same shift seen in Inkitt/Cinematica: the competitive layer is becoming orchestration, editability and long-form workflow rather than a single generation model.
